DCC Business Accelerator: Transforming the Local Chemicals Sector
29 January 2019Through the Durban Chemicals Cluster’s (DCC) Skills Development and Transformation Programme, the cluster aims to drive sustainable and value-adding transformation initiatives that both assist members and promote the growth and development of Black-owned enterprises in the local chemicals value chain.
After a successful pilot run in December 2018 with Ferro Coating Resins, NCS Resins and Ferro Dispersions, the DCC is proud to report to all members on its inaugural Business Accelerator. This initiative is a highly effective, cost-efficient and low-risk means of managing socio-economic development (SED), enterprise development (ED) and supplier development (SD) spend. It ensures that members receive recognition for their B-BBEE related spend while also practically developing Black-owned enterprises in the local chemicals value chain.
The DCC presented the programme to members, showcase highlights from the recent pilot, discussed how other members could participate and workshop other opportunities for similarly meaningful transformation activities.
